Mr. K’s mom recently had surgery on her foot and was laid up for a few weeks. In addition to this very sad event, she also lives in one of the rainiest spots in America (yes, right near Forks, WA). (And yes, we did the Twilight tour a few summers ago). So depressing. Seemed to me that she needed a special gift….maybe a box of sunshine would make her feel better.
I recently came across this amazingly wonderful item that my sister-in-law pinned on Pinterest (isn’t nearly everything on Pinterest amazingly wonderful?): a box of sunshine. Happy Money Saver wrote about this adorable box of sunshine she created to brighten a friend’s day. It essentially is a bright and happy care package full of yellow items. And Happy Money Saver has even posted a few free “sunny” PDFs for us to put in our own packages! It was the perfect idea for Mom.
I expanded on her idea just a bit and added a couple orange items to my box (mostly because I couldn’t find one of those knobby, 3-pronged massager thingies in yellow). Of course, Happy Money Saver was much more frugal in the assembly of her box than I was, but you can be sure that from now on, I will be grabbing any inexpensive yellow items I come across for my next box of sunshine. Thanks for the idea, Happy Money Saver!
