Party on a Budget: Valentine’s Day Party {Love Letters}

This Valentine’s Day Love Letters party-on-a-budget was inspired by conversation hearts.  I think they taste pretty disgusting, but for some reason, I still love them.  They are the quintessential Valentine’s Day candy–they are to VDay what candy canes are to Christmas and Peeps (also totally gross) are to Easter.  So I started with conversation hearts, then expanded on the idea with mail letters and stamps.

Most of the decor for this party was all re-used from a Valentine’s Day photo shoot I stylized for my friend Emily of Emily Magers Photography (pictures to follow soon).  Since we already had all these lovely decorations, we figured it would be fun to do a party too!  Instead of traditional cupcake toppers for the boring cupcakes I made, I bought a pack of pretty “stamp” stickers from Michaels and stuck them to scrapbook paper.  I used another pack of stickers on the candy jars, mini mail boxes and letter in a bottle bottles.   The candy and fancy cupcakes (donated by Bake You Happy) were left over from the photo shoot; the rest of the food cost me less than $20 (and was all SUPER easy to make–probably only about 2 hrs total).  So total cost for the party was less than $25.  Not too bad, if I do say so myself.  :-)
